Bwami Coffee Farm Tours.
Uganda coffee farm tours. Coffee farm tours in Uganda. Tour a coffee farm in Uganda and learn about growing coffee, picking coffee, pulping coffee, hulling coffee, drying coffee, roasting coffee, drying coffee and pounding/grinding coffee in a local mortar. Taste freshly roasted and ground coffee. You may add milk freshly milked at the farm from the cows that we rear primarily for cow dung for generating organic fertilisers for our coffee plantation.

We arrange coffee farm tours at our two Bwami coffee plantations in Ssekanyonyi where we practice agroforestry; coffee grown within a tree plantation and in Kasanda where we practice regenerative coffee farming at our hybrid coffee plantation model that literally looks like a coffee forest. At our Bwami Coffee farm, coffee is planted within very small coffee spaces, using the Brazilian coffee plantation model and a hybrid spacing model of 6ftx6ft between coffee tree rows and from one coffee tree to the next.
Join one of our coffee farm tours and learn firsthand about how coffee seedlings are raised, how coffee is planted and looked after. You’ll get a chance to learn about things coffee, how to prune coffee, how to bend/train coffee, application of organic or artificial fertilisers in coffee, how to handle pests and weeds in coffee. You’ll also learn how specialty coffee is picked, pulped, fermented, sorted and dried on raised coffee drying stands.
Participants on our coffee farm tours, will then learn how to roast coffee the traditional way and how to ground the freshly roasted coffee in a local Ganda mortar called “Ekinu”. Freshly roasted coffee tastes the way coffee was meant to taste with awesome aromas, notes and flavours. Participating in our coffee farm tours with reveal to you all the hidden nitty gritty of making great coffee. The coffee on our coffee farm tours can then be served as black coffee or with milk from cows raised on our 2 Bwami coffee farms. Participants on our coffee farming experience tours, will have the opportunity of participating in milking before boiling the milk on a cooking stove powered from biogas produced from cow dung generated from cattle and goats reared at the farm. Sustainable, integrated coffee farming in Uganda.
Our coffee farm tours are usually led and conducted by one of our farm managers, resident agronomist or operations director, Marvin Ssenditta, all of whom are experts of growing coffee at our farms. Value added activities on the coffee plantation tour include picking your own red coffee cherries or potting coffee trees. The coffee tour ends with a unique coffee tasting and cupping experience in our coffee lab! Discover the flavours of Robusta coffee and our trail Arabica coffee in a whole new dimension!
